چکیده

In “A note on a theorem of Erdös & Gallai” ([6]) one identifies the nonredundant inequalities in a characterization of graphical sequences. We explain how this result may be obtained directly from a simple geometrical observation involving weak majorization. A sequence of positive integers d1, d2, . . . , dp is called graphical if it is the degree sequence of a graph, i.e., there is a graph whose vertices have degrees d1, d2, . . . , dp. Sierksma and Hoogeveen [5] presents several (actually seven) equivalent conditions for an integer sequence to be graphical. For a further discussion of this topic, see Chapter 7 of [3] or Chapter 3 of [4]. One well-known characterization of graphical sequences is the following theorem of Erdös and Gallai [1]. Theorem 1 ([1]) A nonincreasing sequence of positive integers d1, d2, . . . , dp is graphical if and only if ∑p i=1 di is even and

A remark on the means of the number of divisors

‎We obtain the asymptotic expansion of the sequence with general term $frac{A_n}{G_n}$‎, ‎where $A_n$ and $G_n$ are the arithmetic and geometric means of the numbers $d(1),d(2),dots,d(n)$‎, ‎with $d(n)$ denoting the number of positive divisors of $n$‎. ‎Also‎, ‎we obtain some explicit bounds concerning $G_n$ and $frac{A_n}{G_n}$.

Markerless Tracking and Surface Measurements in Biomechanical Applications

The need to capture human motion and to reconstruct a human body has been significantly recognized. Special interest lies in the description of changes as a result of pathologies compared to normal healthy subjects and short or long-term adaptations due to interventions. In this paper, we focus on a makerless vision based method to track 3-D motion information from video sequences. Although vid...

Markerless Model Based Surface Measurement and Motion Tracking

A vision based method to track and recover 3-D shape and motion information from video sequences is presented. Although video sequences acquired from multiple static synchronized CCD cameras have been used as a tool for 3-D reconstruction of the shape and the movement of a human body before, the precision and reliability remain as concerning issues, which are addressed in this paper. The differ...
